The power of human is rarely defined by what's visible on the surface. We are often categorised by our professions, our achievements, and the material markers of our existence, yet these factors fail to capture the beauty of the inner world of one's soul. The soul is much more complex than that - it is a world based on emotions rather than "power lines" or "real estates". To ignore the fact that the beauty of the soul is unmeasurable is to acknowledge the fact that human in this age are too insensitive. But to acknowledge the "hidden river" flows in one's world is to say that we have a heart. One with a heart is truly a human who embraces life. Ourselves, and life itself, are formed by unseen spiritual depths and geographic memories of our past.
In modern society, value is often dictated by money; we perceive "practicality" as a solution to all. But to take practicality to the human's life, we need to sacrifice what's beautiful. This action represents capitalism, property and the artificial grids we lay all over the world. The hidden river represents everything that resists this grid, because it is pursued by love. And it is where the true essence of human lies. And, undeniably, life would have been simple had there been no power of the money!
Life is full of contradictions itself. If the river is the soul, the water is far from uniform. I am a dreamer, a preacher, a rocker, a schemer, a lover, and a reaper.
How can one be both a "preacher" of virtue and a "schemer" of deceit? The answer lies in the river. The hidden river acts as an ecosystem that carries them all. They do not judge the water, because each body has a story that no one would have enough sympathy to understand how it is understood. It simply carries it. Similarly, we appear to have a lot of contradictions. Our mind is a place where desire and doubt are constant, and we need to accept the fact that it is the basic nature of a life. It all moves together in a continuous flow of consciousness.
We are forever the moving rivers, even if we die. Because there is no end for a hidden river. They don't simply go down the ocean; they move into the soil, go into trees, fly up the clouds, and then move back to where it should be. It is the true cycle of a life.
